Hawaii
This gorgeous U.S. state is known for its natural beauty and aloha attitude. Honolulu is the capital city of the 50th state, Hawaii, and also the largest. "Hawaii is made up entirely of nineteen distinct volcanic islands, located over a geological "hot spot" in the Central Pacific. The older islands are smaller due to erosion. Hawaii (The Big Island), Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Molokai, and Lanai are the six out of eight major islands that are open to the public. You can't find an abundance of similarities between Hawaii and San Francisco but there are a few to point out. First, both are home to beautiful Pacific Ocean beaches. Both Hawaii and San Francisco are home to large Pacific Islander communities: Polynesians in Hawaii and Tongans in the Bay Area. Upwelling makes SF ocean water chilly, while Hawaiian Island water is warm and crystal blue. However, both of these places are home to surfing communities. Both areas depend on the tertiary sector for economic profitability due to their tourism popularity. San Franciscans and Hawaiians carry strong spirits for cultural and regional pride. Separated by a 5-7hour flight depending on the island, these two coasts have rich cultural diversity. Although the lifestyles of these citizens are differ greatly, both SF and Hawaii are opportune homes for a happy life.
